John Burek holds a master’s degree from NSU, a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries/Counseling from SEU and has 27 years of experience in the social services field. Before joining NAFI/NFI FL, John spent 13 years with two national/international recognized evidence-based family therapy models in the capacity of Business Development and Implementation Director and CEO. John also spent 12 years at a non-profit in FL with 7 of the 12 years the Deputy Director implementing and providing oversight to all youth and family programs in 23 counties.
Mr. Burek has successfully implemented the evidence-based family therapy models in 19 states (including Florida) and co-authored, “An Exploratory Study of a Training Team-Coordinated Approach to Implementation” in the journal, “Global Implementation Research and Applications” January 2021 Edition. Also, Mr. Burek has presented at more than 85 social service and implementation conferences across the United States and Canada including the Global Implementation Conference. John is a lifelong Floridian working both in the professional capacity and as a volunteer in his community as faith community leader.
